Terms of service

Effective July 30, 2026

Booking and payment

A $100 deposit holds your date and comes off your total. The balance is due two weeks before the event. Until a deposit is paid, a date is not held, however many emails we have exchanged.

Rescheduling and cancellation

Move your date once for free if the new date is open; we will do our best either way. Cancel more than sixty days out and we refund everything but the deposit. Cancel within sixty days and we refund half of what you have paid. If we ever have to cancel on you (it would take something serious), you get a full refund including the deposit.

On the night

We deliver, set up, and test before your guests arrive, and we coordinate timing with your venue. The phone needs a standard outlet and a spot out of the rain. If equipment fails and we cannot restore recording during the event, we refund the package in full: that is the deal.

Equipment

The phones are restored vintage hardware and they are sturdier than they look. Normal party wear is on us. Damage beyond that (a phone in the fountain, a booth used as a climbing structure) is billed at repair cost, capped at $500.

Recordings

Every message recorded at your event is delivered to you within three days of the event (48 hours on The Full Night). Recordings belong to the event hosts. Our handling of them is covered in the privacy policy.

The boring but necessary part

Our total liability for anything arising from a booking is capped at the amount you paid us. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York. If a dispute cannot be settled over the phone (fitting), it goes to the courts of New York County.
